For those of you who check this site with some regularity, I apologize for the lack of updates lately. The drama of the last couple of months seems to have subsided and I feel like a relatively pesky human once again.
That being said, I am beginning a couple of new painting series that are very exciting. I am still nailing down the details with my clients, but I know that these are going to be firey. Stay tuned for details.
I have added a whole new set of images to Start Mobile. I now have three separate galleries. The first combines my portrait, video game and technology pieces. The second is my sneaker series. The third is a brand spankin' new series of textiles and patterns. Check these out and add some Pesky Humans flavor to your mobile phone.
The Listen Skateboards designs are in full swing. I just put 30 hours into the first illustration. I am still doing a few tweaks, but suffice it to say it is more intricate than anything I have ever done with the possible exception of the Harley. Working in an unlimited number of colors is liberating though, I have to say.
I will post some sicko close-ups of this design when it is cashed.
The fine folks at the Wu Music Group have selected my Ol' Dirty Bastard portrait for their official ODB tribute page. If you mess with Myspace, or just a fan of the ODB, go here and check it out.
Studio is just about settled in. I will be posting pics very soon. It was difficult to see how this was going to come together, but it has worked out very well.
I have been blessed with a lot of incredible new music lately. There really is nothing better than asking people with great ears what they are listening to. My homie Dahrok hipped me to Camplo's "Uptown Saturday Night" recently. I don't think Allmusic gives it the credit it is due. I slept on this bigtime, as this is on some 1997 shit, but it's a classic. Loving this right now. I'm also getting the Grand National's "Kicking the National Habit" and Tom Vek's "We Have Sound". Both are beautiful and hard to describe, and we like that. Props to Joanna for giving me the tip on these.
I saw The Orb at the Disney Concert Hall in downtown on Saturday. The music and the room were both amazing. The way they have it set up is very cool and unique. The sound and view of the stage from any seat in the house is unlike anything I have ever seen for something that size. I am thrilled that the hall has opened up to electronic music in this way. I am looking forward to future events here.
